ORTHOFLEX tendon is used for the treatment of pain and reduced mobility due to tendon disorders. Due to its lubricating and visco-elastic properties, a single injection provides rapid pain relief, helping restore the regenerative and restorative functions of the tendon.
ORTHOFLEX tendon consists of 40 mg/2 ml hyaluronic acid obtained by biofermentation, plus 10 mg mannitol — a free radical scavenger that helps stabilize the chains of sodium hyaluronate.
Due to its lubricating and viscoelastic properties, ORTHOFLEX tendon promotes tendon gliding and the physiologic repair process, reducing pain.
Its macromolecular meshwork reduces the free passage of inflammatory cells and molecules, acting as a protective barrier around the tendon.
Acts as a good transport medium for nutrients essential to tendon healing and regeneration.
ORTHOFLEX tendon will be injected around the affected tendon or into the tendon sheath, once a week for a total of 2 injections. Several tendons may be treated at the same time. If symptoms return, the treatment can be repeated.
For tendons with a sheath — ORTHOFLEX tendon is injected into the tendon sheath in the affected area.
For tendons without a sheath — ORTHOFLEX tendon is injected along the affected tendon (not directly into it).
Ultrasound guidance is recommended during injection to avoid nerve and blood vessel damage.
Tendons contain naturally occurring hyaluronic acid within the tendon sheath and peritendinous tissue. It acts as a lubricant between the tendon and surrounding structures, reducing friction during movement. In tendinopathy, this HA matrix degrades — causing pain, stiffness, and impaired healing.
ORTHOFLEX tendon restores this lost HA (40 mg/2 ml) enhanced with Mannitol — a powerful free radical scavenger that protects the HA chains from enzymatic breakdown, extending the therapeutic effect and supporting the tendon's own regenerative capacity.
